Sold 1 premium domain, went on a .xyz registration blitz!
Incredible opportunities await in the .xyz space. Recent comps from DNJournal show aftermarket sales of .xyz are buzzing. Largely thanks to a handful of .xyz and aftermarket brokers such as DNGear, .xyz seems to have made a strong splash in 2021. Launched in 2014/2015 .xyz values seem to be on par with the historical trends enjoyed by .com values (going back to the early 1990s). In other words, the general rule of thumb is that it takes roughly 10 years for domains to mature. It takes around 5 years for the single word premiums to get gobbled up. Scarcity creates more value and demand. As the single words are taken off the market the next batch of names to see appreciations are combined words (generally stated). It’s a 5 to 10 year hold game. Anyway, after my recent sale of Reef.xyz I went on a .xyz registration blitz. Here are the highlights. My plan for each is to hold for 5 to 10 years selling off a few along the way.
In searching for available single word .xyz domains, it should be noted that .xyz is withholding a number of premium domains or allowing registration for premium rates (beyond the normal $10 per year). Also, in searching for solid .xyz names I also registered a few none .xyz names, namely: EquityMarkets.org.
