By Royce, June 17, 2021: Working on a new track called Cover Me. This is based on the Prayer for Faculties from the book Deliverance Prayers by Father Chad Ripperger. My process for songwriting almost always starts with the acoustic riff followed by melody and lyrics. I refine the melody using this process: practice, record scratch audio recordings, review, practice more and repeat. Once I get the length down I’ll hit the studio to lay down the scratch track which consists of guitar and vocals. From there we build the song adding percussion, bass, re-recording guitar, vocals and so on.
